Swank Returns to Scatter Ashes
Academy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank recently returned to South Africa’s Graaff-Reinet to scatter the ashes of a dog she adopted in the Karoo while filming “Red Dust”.
The film was produced in the Karoo town eight years ago.
Karoo, which is the name Swank gave her dog, was adopted from a Graaff-Reinet animal shelter.
The dog died earlier this year.
Swank slept at Andries Stockenstrom guesthouse, according to TimesLive, where the owner of the upmarket guesthouse, Gordon Wright, said she was accompanied by her other dogs, Kai and RooMe. Gordon said he cooked meals for all three of his guests.
